Charcoal is the color of my world.
Once red and gold dressed my days
Life most vibrant and impassioned
This soul is drawn, beset by eternity
Lost in tasks only to emerge ancient
Already too far gone to participate
Outside, nose pressed against the glass
All the color on the other side
Surrounded so many other souls
Peering into the illusion of life
Wishing to hold on to the moments
Even as they bleed from our hands
